Hummingbird is situated in a ideallic and quaint village with close amenities such as The Community Village Shop, a Village Hall and our local pub The York Inn, all within walking distance.

Close to the A303 we have many beautiful attractions that surround us.

Otterhead Lakes Nature Reserve

Situated in the Blackdown Hills, 7 miles south of Taunton near the village of Churchinford.

The reserve is set around two lakes in the former landscaped estate of Otterhead House that was demolished in 1952.

The lakes are mostly unfenced and care needs to be taken with children. There is a picnic area beside the upper lake.

There are nature trails and wooded areas ideal for den building and forest crafts. Some parts are marshy and you are advised to stay on the trail.

The reserve is open during daylight hours and there is a free car park. A shop and pub/cafe can be found in the village of Churchinford one mile away.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary

Ferne Animal Sanctuary (5 miles) from Churchinford, in Chard.

The Ferne Animal Sanctuary is an Animal Sanctuary home to over 300 animals, including birds, pigs, donkeys, chinchillas, horses, rabbits, chipmunks, goats, ferrets, and more!

Beautiful Nature Trails to enjoy, plus picnic spots, and children’s play areas. Open throughout the year.
